Effective date: August 2, 2026
Version: evictionos-public-pilot-3.0
These Terms govern the EvictionOS statewide Michigan pilot operated by Everybody Cares, 2529 Orleans Street, Detroit, MI 48207. Please read them before creating a plan, using AI chat, or uploading a document.
Agreement and electronic acceptance
When you select an “I agree,” “I understand,” or authorization checkbox and continue, you electronically agree to the version displayed beside that action. EvictionOS records the version, time, anonymous session identifier and confirmations shown. You may browse public information without accepting, but interactive case, chat and document features require the applicable agreement.
What EvictionOS provides
EvictionOS provides AI-assisted legal information, procedural navigation, document extraction, planning tools, deadline organization, court-preparation support and referrals. It is designed to give the most useful source-grounded help available rather than stop at a generic disclaimer when supported steps can be provided.
Not a lawyer, court or emergency service
EvictionOS and Everybody Cares are not a law firm, your attorney, a court, a government agency or an emergency service. Use does not create an attorney-client relationship, legal representation or attorney-client privilege. Information may be personalized using facts you provide, but it is not a substitute for advice from a licensed attorney who has reviewed your complete situation.
AI-assisted information and your review
AI may generate incomplete, inaccurate, outdated or misleading information and may misread photographs or documents. Review extracted facts against the original. Confirm hearing information, filing requirements and court deadlines with the court or a licensed attorney. A user-confirmed date means you confirmed what appeared on the paper; it does not mean the court verified it.
EvictionOS may give detailed, source-grounded steps, calculate an ordinary countdown to a date you entered, and help you prepare questions or materials. It does not guarantee that an output is legally complete, select a defense for you, predict a result or make a legal decision on behalf of a court, lawyer, landlord, agency or service provider.
Urgent matters
Do not delay contacting a court, licensed attorney, emergency service or qualified housing organization while waiting for EvictionOS. If anyone is in immediate physical danger, call 911 or local emergency services. If a hearing, lockout or court deadline may be close, use the Urgent Help page and confirm the event directly.
Your responsibilities
- Provide information you reasonably believe is accurate and review the plan as facts change.
- Do not submit Social Security numbers, full bank or card information, medical records, passwords or unrelated sensitive information.
- Upload only documents you own or are authorized to use.
- Protect access to the device connected to your private workspace.
- Do not misuse the service, introduce malicious material, impersonate another person or attempt unauthorized access.
Interactive case features are intended for adults. A person under 18 should use them with a parent, guardian or other authorized adult and may still access public information and verified resources.
Permission to process your information
You retain your rights in information and documents you submit. You give Everybody Cares and its service providers a limited permission to host, copy, transmit, analyze, extract and display that content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain and evaluate the service, comply with law and honor your requests. Document processing requires a separate affirmative authorization.
Third-party services and referrals
External courts, legal-aid providers, assistance programs, websites and service providers control their own eligibility, availability, accuracy and practices. A listing or referral is not an endorsement, guarantee of assistance or representation, or confirmation that a program received your information.
No guaranteed result
EvictionOS does not guarantee housing retention, deadline compliance, case outcomes, legal representation, rental assistance, eligibility, funding availability or a response from a third party. You remain responsible for decisions and filings made in your matter.
Pilot availability and changes
The pilot may change, be interrupted, contain errors or discontinue a feature. We may update these Terms prospectively. When a material change affects an interactive feature, we may require acceptance of a new version before continued use.
Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these Terms limits a right or warranty that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Everybody Cares and its officers, volunteers, contractors and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for losses arising from reliance on AI output, missed deadlines, third-party services, service interruption, unauthorized device access or loss of data. To the fullest extent permitted by law, their combined liability for a claim related to the free pilot will not exceed $100. This limitation does not apply where applicable law does not allow it.
Michigan law and severability
These Terms are governed by Michigan law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that is not resolved informally will be brought in a court with jurisdiction in Wayne County, Michigan, unless applicable law requires otherwise. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
